This year Canadian Thanksgiving falls on Monday October 10th. If you are thinking of visiting Whistler for the long weekend, we have put together a great list of “must do’s”.  Fall is a wonderful time to visit Whistler, the weather is crisp and the leaves are starting to turn beautiful golden and red shades.

1.    Book your room at the Summit Lodge and Spa!

2.    Shop the Turkey Sale
The Turkey Sale is where you can buy all your ski, snowboard, gear and winter clothing at greatly discounted prices.  The Turkey Sale is on all weekend from October 7th to the 10th.  The sale takes place at the Blackcomb Day Lodge, just at the base of Blackcomb Mountain in the Upper Village.

3.    Buy quality pre-owned ski and snowboard equipment at SWAP
The annual Whistler Mountain Ski and Snowboard Swap is located outside the Blackcomb Day lodge in the tent.  The SWAP has a proven reputation for quality pre-owned equipment for both kids and adults.

4.    Visit the Whistler Farmers Market
Thanksgiving weekend is the last Whistler Farmers Market of the season.  Visit the market on Sunday October 9th from 11am to 4pm in the Upper Village outside the Fairmont Chateau Whistler.  The market features local produce, fresh baked goods including delicious pumpkin pies, crafts, honey, pottery, jewellery and more!

5.    Ride the Whistler Mountain Bike Park

Monday October 10th is the last day for the Whistler Mountain Bike Park to be open for the season.  Experience one of the best mountain bike parks in the World!  There are trails to suit or ability levels.  Bike rentals and gear are available at a number of stores throughout the Village.

6.    Last round of Golf for the season
This is the last weekend that the Whistler golf courses will be open for the season.  Experience the world class courses at The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Course, Nicklaus North or the Whistler Golf Club, all of which are open over the Thanksgiving Weekend.

7.    Discover the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Center
The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Center is located in the Upper Village, just across from the Four Seasons Hotel.  The center celebrates the history, language, stories, and craft-making skills of the Lil’wat and Squamish people. View the museum, exhibits, contemporary galleries and gift shop – a great place to spend time on a rainy day.

8.    Relax at the Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa.

The Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa is located inside the Summit Lodge and Spa.  This is the perfect place to relax on Thanksgiving weekend.  Enjoy one of the signature massage treatments then relax by the pool or in the hot tub.

9.    Enjoy dinner at one of Whistler’s many restaurants.
Many of the Whistler restaurants have a special menu during the fall.  Enjoy world class fine dining at special prices!

10.    Explore Whistler via the Valley Trail.

The Valley Trail is a network of over 40kms of paved trail.  The trails connect Whistler neighbourhood, lakes and parks.  You can bike, rollerblade, jog or just walk the trails.  A perfect way to spend time with the family over Thanksgiving weekend.
