With the pandemic still looming, many of us are curious what winter in Whistler will look like this season.
Here’s everything we can tell you at the moment:
Is the resort open?
Yes, Whistler Blackcomb opens for the 2020/21 winter season on November 26th, 2020.
Face coverings are mandatory and a reservation system has been implemented to control crowds on the mountain.
How does the reservation system work?
All season pass holders are given seven “priority reservation days” that can be reserved now for the core season (Dec 8 – April 4). Otherwise, week-of reservations will be made available every Wednesday. You can learn more here and you can reserve your days here.
Are restaurants open? What is there to do in the Village?
The majority of restaurants and shops in the village are open for business, however we are all subject to the same guidelines and restrictions. Masks are currently mandatory in all indoor public spaces and they are recommended in public outdoor spaces including the Village Stroll.
If you are intent on visiting a restaurant, we recommend making a reservation to guarantee they can accommodate you. Now is also a great time to explore Whistler’s food and beverage delivery options.
Are Canada’s borders open for international travel?
Unfortunately, Canada’s borders are not currently open for international travel. We don’t know when they will open so we must sadly discourage non-Canadians from making plans to visit Whistler at the moment.
Is it safe to stay at hotels? What is the Summit Lodge doing to keep guests safe?
Several Whistler hotels, including the Summit Lodge, are currently open. We urge you to use discretion when making travel plans and please only travel if you feel it’s safe to do so, however we are doing everything we can to keep guests safe. Our detailed COVID-19 safety plan can be found here.
