Brunch is one of the most important meals of the day – not necessarily because of all the great food but, because of all the great company. Brunch is never a boring event. No matter where you choose to eat, it’s always filled with family, friends and laughter.

Here are 4 of our favourite upscale Whistler restaurants for Sunday brunch, perfect for special occasions, birthdays, celebrations, or even just the occasional fancy breakfast date.

Our pick of Whistler’s best restaurants for fancy Sunday brunch

Wildflower, Fairmont Chateau

The Wildflower Resturant Whistler

The Wildflower’s garden patio is one of the best places in Whistler to enjoy the warm mid-morning sun and, because it’s located in the upper village at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, it’s a great place to escape the long line-ups in the busy summer months.

Brunch times: 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on selected holiday weekends only

Breakfast times: 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday – Friday and 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday & Sunday

Where: In the Fairmont Chateau in Whistler’s upper village. Location is also on the map below.

Aura, Nita Lake

Aura at Nita Lake Lodge, Whistler

Aura is one of my favourite places for Sunday Brunch. Right on the shores of Nita Lake, the setting is spectacular, and the food is always fresh, local and seasonal – three things that should be top of the list for anyone who wants to experience true west coast sustainable and responsible cuisine.

Brunch times: summer brunch on Sundays, 10.00a.m. to 2.00p.m.

Breakfast times: 7.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. daily

Where: Aura is the in-house restaurant at the Nita Lake Lodge in Creekside – just 10 minutes south of Whistler village. Location is also on the map below.

Araxi, Whistler Village

Araxi Whistler

For a restaurant owned by a large chain (the Top Table Group), Araxi still maintains it’s roots and connections to local producers. Executive Chef, James Walt is one of Canada’s top farm-to-table chefs, sourcing his ingredients locally, seasonally and sustainably from all along the Sea to Sky Corridor.  Whether your at one of their infamous Long Table events or having Sunday brunch, every plate is served with respect for the environment we live in.

Brunch times: 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every Sunday

Where: In the heart of the Whistler village stroll near the grocery store, The Beacon, The Amsterdam Pub and Rexall.

Wild Wood Bistro (Village Location), Crystal Lodge

Wildwood Pacific Bistro Whistler

Wild Wood Pacific Bistro is a frequent winner of the “Best Breakfast” award, voted for by Whistler local’s in the Pique Newsmagazine’s Best of Whistler awards. The restaurant took the award again in 2014, and serves their famous breakfast menu all day long. Although, technically, not a brunch menu I just had to include it so you wouldn’t miss out.

Breakfast times: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., daily

Where: In the Crystal Lodge in Whistler village. Near Can Ski, Roots and Quicksilver. Location is also on the map below.
