Blenz Whistler is a bright café known for serving Whistler’s best hot chocolate—and great coffee, too. With an idyllic location at the junction of Olympic Plaza, Marketplace, and Main Street, Blenz is a popular hangout for locals and visitors alike.
Blenz Whistler is proudly owned by locals and is part of a Vancouver-based chain of coffee shops which first arrived in Whistler in 1996, over a decade before the construction of Whistler’s iconic Olympic Plaza. Back then, Blenz’s surroundings consisted mostly of trees. Nowadays, Blenz looks out on the bustling Village Stroll, making it an ideal spot to bask in the Village atmosphere and observe the ebb and flow of passers-by.
Easily distinguishable by the vibrant yellow umbrellas out front, Blenz’s atmosphere is bright and airy. The space is large in comparison to other Whistler cafés, with high ceilings and large windows providing an abundance of natural light. The patio offers additional seating and is decorated with fresh flowers in the warm months.
In the evenings, Blenz opens their doors for local groups and meetups. Co-owner John Corvino says that supporting the local community is a top priority for the business. In addition to being generous with their space, Blenz supports the community through regular donations to events and causes, such as the Whistler Walk for Alzheimer’s that took place on May 5th. Blenz’s tasty treats are sourced locally from Riverside Café and Solfeggio Foods.
Blenz aims to minimize their environmental footprint through various initiatives. Their “Community Mugs” program rewards customers for drinking out of reusable mugs (bring your own or take one from the counter and bring it back later). They offer compostable and stainless steel straws, and are working with AWARE Whistler to eliminate the sale of single-use water bottles.
As mentioned above, Blenz is known for serving delicious hot chocolate—so good it’s been voted “Whistler’s Best Hot Chocolate” for seven years running. Their award-winning hot chocolate is all natural, made without powders or syrups. Last year, Blenz was also the runner-up for “Whistler’s Best Coffee”, a title they’d love to claim for themselves in the future.
In addition to delicious coffee and hot chocolate, Blenz turns heads with their picture-perfect Blue Latte, a naturally caffeine-free drink made with a soothing combination of matcha, butterfly pea flower, and lavender.
Blenz is located only steps away from the Summit Lodge Whistler and, if you’re in the area, we recommend checking them out!
